Professors Present Papers at Conference

Professors Nigel Boyle and Tom Ilgen, Pitzer's Scholar-in-Residence for 2002-03, presented papers at the International Studies Association conference in New Orleans on March 24. Boyle's paper was titled "Employment Programs in Ireland 1987-2000: Community-based Organizations, the EU and the Irish State." Ilgen's topic was "Reconfiguring Sovereignty: Local and Regional Challenges to the Nation-state in the Global Age."

Pitzer freshman Brian Oum attended a conference March 22-26 in Vienna, Austria, called "Soccer Nations and Football Cultures in East Asia." Brian is doing an independent study with Boyle on the topic, as well as an independent study on The World Cup in Korea in June.
