Kohoutek Music Festival
The 29th annual Kohoutek/Groove at the Grove 2002 will take place from noon to midnight April 19-20 on the Mounds at Pitzer College. About 20 bands will be featured, along with food vendors, arts and crafts, and art displays from five of the Claremont Colleges. Among the musical acts to be featured will be first-night headliners Dakah, a hip-hop trio with more than 50 members; Indie-rock band Ozma, which recently opened for Weezer; and B-Plus, featuring hip-hop turntable action. William Shakespeare's 'Macbeth'
The Department of Theatre and Dance at Pomona College will present "Theatre East and West: Macbeth," Shakespeare's tragedy performed with a blending of Asian and Western performance styles. Performances will be at 8 p.m. April 3-6, and at 2 p.m. April 6-7, at Seaver Theatre. Pitzer students Stasia Patwell, Emily Reese, Drew Doyle and Juliette Perlmutter will be featured in the production. Tickets are $4 for faculty, staff, seniors and students, and $8 general.
