The Campaign Trail: Counting Down to Launch I am filled with anticipation and excitement as we count down the final two weeks before the public launch of The Campaign for Pitzer College, a critical step in gathering the resources we need to embolden our vision and purpose in the 21st century and beyond! This is a pivotal time in Pitzer history. With a goal of $40 million, the Campaign is far and away the most ambitious fundraising effort the College has ever mounted. Comprehensive in nature, The Campaign seeks to undergird our solid financial base while furthering three goals essential to a robust future: increasing the endowment ($20 million); building the annual fund ($8 million); and expanding philanthropic support of innovative projects and programs ($12 million).
I encourage all of you to attend the kick-off event on Saturday, April 28. Among the program highlights are testimonials by alumni and students and the premiere of a new Pitzer College video, "Imagine a College." Professor Peter Nardi was unanimously chosen by our alumni to emcee the evening's program. Although the reply-card deadline was Friday, April 13, it's not too late to send yours in.
I will be in the Big Apple later this week to attend our New York Film Benefit and to make calls on behalf of the Campaign. The Los Angeles Film Benefit raised more than $100,000 in scholarship funds for deserving students and we're hoping for great success in New York.
