The Campaign Trail: Building Momentum The momentum continues to build as we approach the public launch of The Campaign for Pitzer College on Saturday, April 28. The invitation to the gala evening that will formally set the public phase in motion should be in the mail this week or next! Meanwhile, we continue to plan the celebration and refine the document that outlines our funding priorities (shaped by the collaborative comprehensive planning process the entire community undertook in recent years) and makes the case for Pitzer's financial deservedness.
On the fundraising side, last week was extremely productive (despite Spring Break) in terms of building support for our goals among key trustees and other prospective donors. Susan Pritzker, who chairs Pitzer's Board of Trustees, spent several days in the Los Angeles area working on behalf of the College. I joined her at some of these meetings and am delighted to report that we had many fruitful discussions. I am confident that we will see a manifestation of these conversations in our ever-growing campaign total.
Later this week, I will be heading up the coast to Santa Barbara, where I will meet with some important Pitzer friends. We have a number of remarkable parents, alumni and friends in that area, and I plan to call on as many of them as I can fit into my schedule.
