How to Configure Microsoft Entourage 2004 (MAC)

This help sheet will provide you with instructions on how to configure Microsoft Entourage for MAC OS X to access your Pitzer e-mail. To configure Entrouage 2004 to connect to the Pitzer e-mail server, you will be required to enter your Pitzer user name and password.

 


E-mail Settings
  • Incoming Mail Server:
    fepzhal..pitzer.edu
  • Outgoing Mail Server :
    fepzhal.pitzer.edu

 

Configuring Entourage 2004

  1. Start Entourage by clicking the Microsoft Entourage icon on the MAC OS X dock or launch the application from the Microsoft Office 2004 folder on your hard drive.
  1. On the File menu go to New and select Email Account.
  1. In the New Account dialog box (Figure 1), use the drop down box and select IMAP and click OK.

  1. In the Edit Account dialog box click the Account Settings tab if it isn't already selected and fill in the following fields (Figure 2):
  • Account name: Pitzer (name of your choice)
  • Personal information: Enter your name and email address
  • Account ID: Enter your Pitzer username
  • IMAP server: fepzhal.pitzer.edu
  • Password: Enter your Pitzer password
  • SMTP server: fepzhal.pitzer.edu

  1. Under Sending mail, click the box labeled Click here for advanced sending options.
  1. Select the box next to SMTP server requires authentication. Your screen should now look like Figure 3.

  1. Click the button in the upper left corner of the window to close the dialog box.
  1. Click the OK button in the Edit Account dialog box to close and save your settings.
  1. You should now be prompted to log on to your email. Enter your Pitzer username and password and click OK.
  1. Finished! Click the Inbox folder under the Pitzer account you just added and you should see your Pitzer email.
