Application Phase
How often are new positions posted?
Staff position vacancies are posted as they occur and announced on Mondays on our website and on our 24-hour job line recording available at (909) 607-4037.
I found a position for which I would like to apply. Are you still accepting applications/resumes?
We are currently accepting resumes for all positions currently posted on our website. Please note that postings are open for a minimum of 10 working days and then may close at any time.
How long does the hiring process usually take?
Each department has different hiring needs so the length of the hiring process will vary depending on the position.
What happens after I submit my resume/application?
Your application materials are forwarded to the hiring supervisor for review, with the exception of the affirmative action identification form if submitted. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted.
Do I have to fill out a Pitzer employment application, even if my resume has my employment history?
Yes, the employment application form is a required document for applying to any staff position.
What is the application deadline for the position for which I applied?
Positions are open for application for a minimum of 10 working days and may close any time after that period. Occasionally positions will have a specific deadline, and if so, it will be identified in the posting.
What if I need an accommodation to apply for a position?

I was interviewed for a position but have not heard back. How will I know if I was selected?
The length of time required to fill a position varies depending on the needs of each department. Once a position is filled, notification letters will be sent to those who were not selected.
Interview Phase
How do I schedule an interview?
Applicants selected for an interview will be contacted by the hiring supervisor or Human Resources.
I would like to send a 'thank you' note after the interview process. Where can I find the names and mailing addresses of the people who interviewed me?
Please forward all post-interview communications to the Human Resources Office with your name and the title of the position for which you interviewed. We will ensure proper delivery of your information.
Final Phase
The Staff Jobs web page states that the final candidate will be required to successfully complete a background check. Does this include a credit check?
The background investigation does not include a credit check, unless you are applying for a position that has access and/or control of the College's financials (e.g. Treasurer, Financial Analyst, etc).
How do I know if I am a final candidate?
Final candidates will be contacted by the Human Resources Office or the hiring supervisor and notified of their status. She or he will be asked to complete the authorization form required to initiate a background check and confirm the ability to contact professional references and former employers. An offer of employment will not be made until references have been contacted and favorable results have been received from them and from the background check.
I received a letter or email notifying me that I was not selected for the position to which I applied. Can I contact Human Resources or the hiring supervisor for additional feedback?
We do not provide additional feedback regarding your application materials or interview performance.
