Major Gifts Officer (Repeat)    # 479

Essential Functions: Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Development & Campaign Director, the Major Gift Officer is responsible for managing a portfolio of donor prospects through a process of identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to acquire the financial support necessary to implement the strategic plan for Pitzer College, and to successfully plan and implement a comprehensive campaign. In addition, the Major Gift Officer also assists in the strategic and operational planning process for the Office of Advancement and works with members of the College Advancement team in Alumni Relations, Parent Programs, Annual Giving and Advancement Services to develop and implement an annual strategic and operating plan for the Office of College Advancement that includes communications, staffing, budget, travel, special events and campaign planning.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: A Bachelor’s degree is required. A minimum of four years experience as a development or advancement professional, or similar experience and qualifications in a related field. Demonstrated success in achieving fundraising goals or achieving demonstrated results in a similar field. Exceptional written, interpersonal and oral communication skills. Demonstrated excellent organizational and planning skills. Proven relationship-building skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse constituencies. Ability and aptitude to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. Demonstrated competency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database software. Must be willing and able to travel. Must have a valid California driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the Colleges’ automobile liability insurer. Knowledge of The Raiser’s Edge software preferred.

Monthly Salary: Salary commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits
