Industry of the Ordinary

Wednesday, April 9, 2008, 9-5 p.m.
Atherton Lobby, Atherton Hall, Pitzer College

In conjunction with the exhibition Allan Kaprow–Art as Life at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, Chicago-based artist collective Industry of the Ordinary—Adam Brooks and Mathew Wilson—will reinvent Kaprow’s Work (1969). Their re-make will involve the hiring of two Hollywood-based sex workers for eight hours at their standard rates to repaint Atherton Hall’s lobby in colors of their choice.
Industry of the Ordinary: Rework

Join Industry of the Ordinary for a discussion of their work on-site.
Atherton Lobby, Atherton Hall at 2 p.m.

Happenings are coordinated by The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, and made possible by generous support from the Getty Foundation. Allan Kaprow–Art as Life is organized by the Haus der Kunst, Munich, and the Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven. The exhibition is on view at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA from March 23 to June 30, 2008.
