Alan Jones received an MA in psychology and neuroscience from Princeton University and a PhD in neuroscience from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He was a National Institutes for Health postdoctoral fellow in pediatric neurology at the University of Colorado Medical School. Jones has been a member of the psychology and neuroscience faculty at Pitzer College since 1986 and has served as dean of faculty since 2001. He was one of the founding faculty members of the College’s Pitzer in Ontario program, an innovative immersion program in critical community studies, and he was founding director of the College’s Community Engagement Center (formerly CCCSI).
