Claremont, Calif. Women’s Basketball began the week by defeating Cal Lutheran for the first time since 2008-09, earning a 56-46 win at Voelkel Gymnasium. Basha Brulee-Wills ’17 had 10 points against Cal Lutheran, and then added a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds at Caltech.

Men’s Basketball also swept its SCIAC opening week with a 75-64 win over Cal Lutheran on Wednesday and an 87-60 win at Caltech on Saturday. Nicholas Nordale ’17 added 11 points against Cal Lutheran.

Both basketball teams travel across the street to meet CMS in the first of two neighborhood rivalry games this season, with the men facing the Stags on Wednesday night at 7:30, and the women following suit on Thursday night at 7:30. The Men’s Basketball team will then host Pacific (Ore.) on Saturday at 7:30 in its final game before the holiday break.

Both teams won 11 of a possible 12 individual swimming events, with first-year players accounting for all 11 wins on the men’s side. Hardman and Eirik Hansen ’15 finished 1-2 in the 50-yard freestyle (21.75 and 22.29) as Pitzer swimmers took the top two spots in that event.
