Pitzer College Named a 2014 Best Value College by Kiplinger

Claremont, Calif. (October 17, 2013) — Pitzer College moved up 10 places on Kiplinger's Personal Finance's list of Best Values in Private Colleges, landing at #39 among all liberal arts colleges. Kiplinger evaluates colleges across the country based on their academic excellence and affordability.

Pitzer's ranking in the top 40 reflects its selective admission standards, high four-year graduation rate, low average student debt, good student-to-faculty ratio, above average amount of financial aid and overall value. This is the fourth year in a row Pitzer has been ranked among Kiplinger's top 50 best values for liberal arts colleges in the country.

Pitzer College is committed to meeting 100 percent of every student's demonstrated financial need. The average financial aid package per student at Pitzer is $39,231. Since 2004, the College has significantly reduced the average amount of indebtedness of its students to $18,030, well below the national average of approximately $26,000.

Kiplinger's Personal Finance annual list ranks 100 private universities and 100 liberal arts colleges. Founded in 1920 by W.M. Kiplinger, Kiplinger created the nation's first personal finance magazine in 1947.
