Pitzer College Rises Eight Spots to #35 in 2014 U.S.News and World Report College Rankings
The College moved up 35 positions since 2002 and is recognized among the nation's best liberal arts colleges.
Claremont, Calif. (September 10, 2013) –Pitzer College catapults into 35th overall in the 2014 Edition of Best Colleges by U.S.News and World Report, an eight-position rise in one year. Since 2002, Pitzer has moved up 35 spots from #70.
In addition, Pitzer is also recognized nationally as the 8th most selective liberal arts college; 8th in most students studying abroad; 13th in high school counselors’ picks; 28th most selective among all college and universities; #44 in best freshmen retention rate and #55 for highest proportion of classes with fewer than 20 students.

This year’s U.S.News and World Report reviewed a total 1376 colleges and universities across the country within which 240 liberal arts colleges were ranked. The 2014 Best Colleges factored several key measures of quality that include graduation and retention rates; assessment by peers and counselors; faculty resources; student selectivity; financial resources; graduation rate performance and alumni giving.
