Pitzer College Moves up to 42nd in 2012 US News & World Report Ranking
Also Ranked 10th in Average Amount of Need-Based Aid Awarded and 17th in High School Counselors' Pick
Claremont, Calif. (September 13, 2011) — For the fifth consecutive year, Pitzer College is ranked a top fifty national liberal arts college by US News & World Report. Pitzer is ranked 42nd this year, up from the 46th spot previously. Since 2002, Pitzer has moved from #70 to #42 in the US News & World Report ranking.
In addition, Pitzer College placed 10th nationwide in Average Amount of Need-Based Aid Awarded and 17th in High School Counselors' Pick.
The College also ranked in the Top 100 Most Campus Ethnic Diversity, Most Selective, Most International Students, Least Amount of Debt for Class of 2010, Highest Proportion of Classes Under 20, Faculty Resources, Freshman Retention Rate, Financial Resources, Economic Diversity and Alumni Giving lists.

The 2012 edition of US News & World Report Best Colleges includes new presentation and ranking methodology with updated ranking categories. The formula uses quantitative measures that education experts have proposed as reliable indicators of academic quality based on researched views of what matters in education.
