Sagehen Men's Tennis Ranks Third Regionally and Ninth Nationally

Claremont, Calif. (March 18, 2011) – Pitzer College congratulates Jack Boutelle '13, Drew Cohn '11, Chase Dyer '11, Mike Meyer '14, Max Sabel '13, Nick Tagliarino '11 and the entire Sagehen men’s tennis team on ranking ninth nationally in the recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings released March 17.  Sabel also ranked tenth in the western region doubles.

The Sagehens improved from the number 20 spot after wins over number 11 Trinity-Texas, number 15 Bowdoin, number 25 Mary Washington, number 28 Texas-Tyler and number 30 Whittier and Brandeis.  The team also improved its regional rankings from number 7 to number 3.

Pitzer College joins with Pomona College in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Sagehen teams include soccer, basketball, football, baseball, track & field, golf, tennis, water polo, swimming and diving.
