Pitzer College Names 2011-12 Scholars-in-Residence
Claremont, Calif. (February 17, 2011) – Pitzer College has selected Associate Professor Adrian Pantoja and Assistant Professor KaMala Thomas as the 2011-12 Scholars in Residence. Pantoja teaches political science and Chicano/a studies. Thomas teaches psychology at Pitzer.
Pantoja will be teaching a seminar entitled "God in the Barrio: The Religious Dimensions of Latino Socio-Political Integration " and Thomas will be teaching a seminar entitled "Stress, Depression, Psychobiology and Disease in Women."
The Scholars-in-Residence Program awards two faculty members a semester of reduced teaching to focus on their research. In addition, each scholar offers a seminar-style course centered on their research during the semester of the award.
