Pitzer College Alumna Named Chief Executive Officer of SCAN Health Plan Arizona

Claremont, Calif. (February 14, 2011) — Pitzer College alumna Elizabeth Russell '74 was named chief executive officer of SCAN Health Plan Arizona and Scan Long Term Care Arizona. She was previously senior vice president of SCAN since 2005.

Prior to joining SCAN, Russell held senior executive positions with HealthCare Partners Medical Group, Heritage Provider Organization and United Health Plan, where she was responsible for business development, operations, physician and network strategy.

SCAN Health Plan is the country's fourth largest not-for-profit Medicare Advantage plan, currently serving nearly 130,000 members in California and Arizona.

Russell majored in English while at Pitzer College and holds a MBA from the University of Southern California.
