Pitzer College Alumna Named 2011 CalTravel Restaurateur of the Year

Claremont, Calif. (April 27, 2011) — Pitzer College alumna Susan Feniger '76 and her business partner Mary Sue Millikan were named California Travel Association's 2011 CalTravel Restaurateur of the Year. They will be recognized at the 29th Annual California Travel Summit held June 20-22, 2011 in Pasadena, California.

Feniger and Millikan, co-chefs and owners of the Border Grill restaurants and truck, are credited with their tremendous impact in nationally promoting a colorful and fun side of California's restaurant industry. They were also named Planned Parenthood LA's Chef of the Year and Feniger was honored with Program for Torture Victims' Visionary Award for her advocacy work this year.

Themed "Think, Adapt, Thrive ... Keeping it Relevant," the annual summit is expected to attract over 600 travel, tourism and hospitality professionals and state legislative officials from California and neighboring states.

The California Travel Association (formerly CalTIA) is the unified voice for the California travel industry's political concerns. By advocating directly to the state legislature, the Governor's office, local and federal officials, businesses, and the public, the California Travel Association addresses issues that affect the state's tourism industry.
