Pitzer College Student Recognized at the 2011 Harvard National Model United Nations Conference

Claremont, Calif. (March 7, 2011)— Pitzer College congratulates Elizabeth "Biz" Pedersen '14, who was named a Best Delegate at the 2011 Harvard National Model United Nations for her representation of Venezuela on the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization Committee.

"Performing well as a delegate is a delicate balance between standing out, as a speaker and organizer, and playing well with others to get and keep their support. Whenever I visited Biz's committee, I could tell she was doing extremely well in both areas and was not at all surprised when she won best delegate," said faculty advisor Geoffrey Herrera, "But she wasn't alone. We're proud of all the Pitzer delegates who did great work."

The Harvard Model United Nations Conference attracts more than 3,000 students from colleges and universities across the United States and 36 counties internationally. The program offers students the opportunity to experience the challenges of international negotiation and diplomacy through simulating the activities of the United Nations.
