Pitzer College Alumna Receives Richard Beckhard Practice Award

Claremont, Calif. ( November 2, 2010) — Pitzer College congratulates Leslie Dashew '70, recipient of the Family Firm Institute Richard Beckhard Practice Award in recognition for her work and mentorship to families in business.

Dashew, who majored in psychology at Pitzer, is the founder of the Human Side of Enterprise and serves on the board of McDowell Sonoran Conservancy and the Advancement Committee of the Arizona Community Foundation. She was an adjunct faculty member at the Thunderbird School of Global Management and served on the boards of the Scottsdale Cultural Council and the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.

She has authored The Best of the Human Side and Health, Wealth and Families, co-authored Working with Family Businesses, A Guide for Professionals, and is completing a new book in collaboration with her partners in the Aspen Family Business Group, Keys to Family Business Success.

The Beckhard Award, established in 1992, recognizes outstanding contributions to the field of family business practice.
