2010 Pitzer College Commencement Speakers and Honorees

Claremont, Calif. (May 6, 2010) — Pitzer College will host its 46th Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 15 at 10 am on the newly constructed Commencement Plaza.

The Honorable Cory A. Booker, mayor of Newark, New Jersey was selected by the class of 2010 to serve as the keynote speaker at this year's event. Amy Jasper '10 will deliver the senior class speech.

Jasper was chosen by a selection committee for her a thoughtful speech that wonderfully reflected the senior class, the Pitzer College experience and the community as a whole. Jasper comes from Mission Viejo, California and majors in political studies.

The graduating class selects a member of the staff or administration to be their honored guest and a member of the faculty to be their student marshal. This year, Associate Dean of Students Moya Carter will serve as the honored guest and Professor Melinda Herrold-Menzies as the student marshal.
