Pitzer College Art Galleries Received Getty Foundation Grant
Claremont, Calif. (April 9, 2010) — Pitzer Art Galleries received a 2010 Multicultural Undergraduate Internship grant from The Getty Foundation.
The Pitzer Art Galleries Getty intern will work as an exhibition researcher and curatorial assistant for the upcoming exhibitions Writ Large slated for July 2010 and Bas Jan Ader: Suspended Between Laughter and Tears opening September 23, 2010.
"We are extremely grateful to the Getty Foundation for providing us with a Multicultural Undergraduate Internship for the second year in a row. Our first Getty Intern Jeremiah Gregory, exceeded all expectations and enabled us to archive our entire permanent collection online, put up two summer shows and prepare for the large group exhibition in the fall. This year will no doubt prove to be equally rewarding for both the student and institution," said Ciara Ennis, director of Pitzer Galleries.
Since 1993, the Foundation's Multicultural Undergraduate Internship program has provided substantive, full-time work opportunities to more than 2,100 multicultural undergraduates, exposing them to potential careers in the arts.
