Join Jumpstart: Get Involved in Jumpstart Claremont!
Jumpstart Claremont is looking for dedicated and passionate students to join our team.
- • Inspire children to develop a love of learning
- • Provide individualized attention to help children develop skills to succeed in school
- • Work on a team of peers in your community
- • Receive 60 hours of professional training
- • Join a national network of college students and an award-winning non-profit
- • Serve as an AmeriCorps member and receive an education award of up to $1,132
- • Work-study students encouraged to apply; volunteer positions also available
- • No prior experience necessary
- • Help to close the achievement gap in education and change the life of a child!

Available Positions for 2012-2013
- Corps Member
• Work one-to-one with 2-3 partner children for the academic year
• Work with a team of your peers, led by a team leader
• Gain valuable training in teaching, early education, and professional development
•Serve 300 hours and receive an AmeriCorps education award of up to $1,200
• Earn academic course credit (if qualified)
• Earn Federal work-study (if qualified)

- Team Leader
• Plan and implement the Jumpstart session (training provided)
• Lead a group of 4-6 Corps Members and shape the identity of your team
• Gain valuable leadership training and connect with awesome people
• Serve 300 hours and receive an AmeriCorps education award of up to $1,200
• Earn academic course credit (if qualified)
• Earn Federal work-study (if qualified)

- Volunteer Coordinator
• Plan community and campus events and activities with the Jumpstart staff
• Recruit and train student and community volunteers
• Work 10-12 hours a week in the Jumpstart office and local community
• Gain valuable leadership training

• Serve 300 hours and receive an AmeriCorps education award of up to $1,200

- Program Assistant
• Work with the Jumpstart staff to support team's work in the classroom, assist with trainings, and complete administrative tasks
• Work 10-15 hours a week in the Jumpstart office
• Gain non-profit administration skills
• Learn how to design and run a community engagement program
• Must be eligible for work-study

- Jumpstart Materials Manager
• Work with the Jumpstart staff to support our work in our partner classrooms, assist with preparation duties for classroom implementation, and complete administrative tasks
• Help manage our Jumpstart supply room; order, create and organize materials
• Work 5-10 hours a week in the Jumpstart office; flexible schedule
• Gain non-profit administration skills
• Learn how to manage a community-based program
• Must be eligible for work-study
