Building Community in Service and Partnerships
in partnership with Pitzer College, the Pomona Day Labor Center
and Vina Danks Middle School

This mural was created in September 2003 by artist Paul Botello
in partnership with students from Vina Danks Middle School, day
laborers from the Pomona Day Labor Center, and students from Pitzer
College. Celebrating the legacy of César Chávez, the
mural reflects the values of community building, partnership, sacrifice,
multi-ethnic unity, service to others, respect for life and the
environment, and knowledge through a participatory education.
