New Book at Career Services
(Most books are available to be checked out overnight or
over the weekend!)
The NAPLA/SAPLA Book of Law School Lists,
2006-2007 Edition.
Interested in law school? As you begin to choose your law
school, this book may be just the answer to deciding which one to
attend.
Literally a book of lists, this book contains information collected
by the editors from a survey administered to ABA accredited law
schools on an annual basis.
Specifically a reference book, it is a good place to begin to get
some of your questions answered about various nationally accredited
law programs. Beginning with “Law School Academic Programs,” lists
include such items as: Special Degree programs, Dual Degree
Programs, Law Schools Offering a Summer or Semester of Study Abroad
or an exchange program, Law schools offering evening division
classes, Law schools offering summer programs, and others.
The
final section is titled “Additional Useful Information.” Want to
know what schools do with multiple LSAT Scores? Law School
Attrition Rates? Admission and support data? Bar Passage Rates?
How about FAQ’s on application processes, early action/early
decision questions, wait listing 101?
All
of these questions and more are addressed in list and table formats
making it easy to compare schools and help you narrow your search
for the law school program for you. Come in today and peruse this
important book yourself. |

Career Tips - Foreign Service & More! |
Want a Job as a
Foreign Service Officer?
A new recruitment strategy has been unveiled by the U.S. State
Department, a faster recruitment process! Throughout the years a
Foreign Service job was as hard to get as a job with Google. With an
average wait time of appointment of a year, many top candidates just
gave up on the whole process, enter the "Total Candidate Approach."
Candidates will have a shorter examination, which will not be used
to rule out candidates, and will be evaluated not only on their
resume but team building skills and personality. The U.S. State
Department hopes that this new process will reduce the wait time of
appointment to 6 months instead of one year.

Professionals say that it is ok to have an alcoholic drink at a
Holiday party. But only 4% say that it is ok in a job interview!

line, their pay raises to a whopping $713 per day.

Have
Aspirations to be a Lawyer?
The passing rate for the some 85,000 law school graduates in the
United States is only 67%, according to the New York Times.
