ONE BEAT FOR JAPAN: Relief Benefit Showcase

In response to the tragic tsunami and earthquakes in Japan, the Center for Asian Pacific American Students in collaboration with Claremont Colleges for Japan invites the community to its “One Beat for Japan” benefit showcase on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 7:30pm at Pitzer College. This outdoor, alcohol-free event will feature top local and community talents from among the Asian American community to raise awareness and money for disaster relief. This event will be followed by a meet and greet with the artists. Free parking and open to the public. Suggested minimum donation of $5.

State of Calamity
On April 7, 2011, a 7.4 magnitude earthquake continued to rattle Japan with threats of another tsunami following last month’s tsunami and earthquake that killed over 25,000 people, leaving many in a state of calamity in the face of an ongoing crisis with damaged nuclear power plants.
