Annual Leadership Giving Levels

The Pitzer Society is a group of dedicated alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends whose generosity makes Pitzer’s mission possible: producing engaged, socially responsible citizens of the world through an academically rigorous, interdisciplinary liberal arts education emphasizing social justice, intercultural understanding and environmental sensitivity.

Strengthening the Annual Fund through the College’s 50Forward Campaign is critical to expanding Pitzer’s position among the nation’s top liberal arts colleges. A significant factor in our ability to maintain affordability and access to a Pitzer education while enhancing resources that support Faculty and Student Excellence initiatives is enlisting a larger base of leadership donors.

In union with the launch of the College’s 50Forward Campaign, the Pitzer Society is comprised of individuals aligned with and invested in the College’s mission. These leadership gifts help support scholarships for the most talented and deserving students, exceptional faculty members’ salaries and student-faculty collaborative projects. Today, gifts to the Pitzer Society make up 70 percent of the Annual Fund. By making leadership level gifts of $1,963 or more, their support keeps the College’s foundation firm and ensures that for the next 50 years and beyond, Pitzer will continue to educate and empower change agents who will transform our world for the better.

The greater your investment, the more opportunities you have to share in the President’s vision and strategy for the future of Pitzer College--and, of course, the greater your impact on the aspects of the Pitzer mission that matter to you most.

$10,000+
Honors the exceptional generosity of donors making the most extraordinary financial commitment to furthering the goals of Pitzer College. It is the level at which the College’s Trustees make their annual contributions.

$5,000-$9,999
Includes donors whose leadership giving assures the strength of Pitzer’s academic mission and its six educational objectives: 1) Breadth of Knowledge, 2) Understanding in Depth, 3) Critical Thinking, Formal Analysis and Effective Expression, 4) Interdisciplinary Perspective, 5) Intercultural Understanding and 6) Concern with Social Responsibility and the Ethical Implications of Knowledge and Action.

$2,500-$4,999
Includes donors whose leadership giving serves as a foundation and as advocacy for the College’s five core values: 1) Social Responsibility, 2) Intercultural Understanding, 3) Interdisciplinary Learning, 4) Student Engagement and 5) Environmental Sustainability.

$1,963-$2,499
Recalls the founding year of Pitzer College, which was named in honor of benefactor, noted philanthropist and orange grower Russell K. Pitzer. The founding faculty, students, and staff designed Pitzer as an innovative liberal arts institution and it was the first independent women's college to open in the United States since 1932.

Please note: All hard- and soft-credited outright cash donations and corporate matching funds received by Pitzer College within a fiscal year (July 1 - June 30) will count for Pitzer Society recognition in the current fiscal year's online Honor Roll of Donors. Donors at this level will receive a personal thank you call and hand-written note from a Pitzer student, who, without this type of support, might otherwise be unable to pursue a Pitzer education.
