“Pitzer is a college, that unlike many others, is active in its community. And that's not just in terms of its students being active. The College has a genuine connection to the community. The fact that it reaches out to people of color and the underprivileged is a sign of how we all need to move forward. The future of Pitzer is the future for California.”
— Fabian Núñez ’97 |
Pitzer College was honored to establish a Chicano Latino Annual Scholarship in 2004 to acknowledge California State Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez ’97 for his commitment to education, social justice, and environmental responsibility. Created to recognize and commemorate Chicano Latino students’ exceptional achievements, this scholarship provides a meaningful opportunity for alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends to celebrate the diversity of Pitzer’s student and alumni body. During the last three years, Pitzer has awarded thirty-three of its most deserving and outstanding Chicano Latino students the prestigious Fabian Núñez ’97 Scholarship. This spring, the College continues to build on this tremendous success and seeks to raise an additional $200,000 for the scholarship fund.
It is with great honor that Pitzer College invites you to attend the fourth annual Fabian Núñez Chicano Latino Scholarship Benefit and to celebrate our scholars’ remarkable accomplishments.
On behalf of the entire Pitzer community, we are deeply grateful for your ongoing sponsorship and the support of Telemundo and Mun2, our hosts for this special event.
