Pitzer College Ranked as One of Princeton Review's "345 Best"

Claremont, Calif. - (Sept. 4, 2002) - The 2003 edition of The Princeton Review's 
annual college guidebook, "The Best 345 Colleges" (Random House/Princeton 
Review, ISBN: 0-375-76255-8), has included Pitzer College among its list of 
outstanding universities. 

Lists of the top 20 ranking colleges in several categories -- from financial aid to 
campus amenities -- appear in the new edition of the guidebook. Among the top 20 
lists that include Pitzer are "Most Politically Active" (No. 9) and Students from 
Different Race/Class Backgrounds Interact (No. 18).

Based on the surveys of 100,158 students, the guidebook is the only guide to 
report college rankings based on student ratings of their schools.

"All of the colleges in this book are outstanding academic institutions," says 
Robert Franek, editorial director at The Princeton Review. "We compile ranking lists 
in many categories -- not just one -- based on what students at the schools tell us 
about their campus experiences. We do this to help applicants and their families 
decide which of these colleges is best for them. That has been our mission for over 
a decade, and will continue to be so." 

The student surveys also revealed that at Pitzer College, "registration is a 
breeze" and that the school has "great computer facilities" and a "great library." 
"The Best 345 Colleges" also has advice for college applicants, and two-page 
profiles on each college with descriptions and demographic data about its 
academics, student body and campus life as well as admission and financial aid 
information.
