(June 7, 2000) – The appointment of Bill Sheinberg of Los Angeles and James E. Orlikoff of Chicago to the Board of Trustees at Pitzer College in Claremont, Calif., was announced recently by Chairperson Susan Pritzker. Sheinberg, a 1983 graduate of Pitzer College, is a partner in The Bubble Factory, a Beverly Hills-based entertainment company. Orlikoff, a 1976 graduate of Pitzer College, is the president of Orlikoff & Associates, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in leadership issues for healthcare, college and university boards, association boards, financial institutions, symphony orchestras and others. Orlikoff has owned his own business for 13 years. The two appointments bring to 42 the total number of trustees on the Pitzer College board. Other prominent trustees include Lisa Specht of Los Angeles, a partner in the law firm of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips; Congressman Xavier Becerra (D-California); Terry Lenzner of Washington, D.C., chairman of Investigative Group International; and Robin Kramer of Los Angeles, a senior fellow of the California Community Foundation. Pitzer College Trustees/Add 1-1-1 Sheinberg previously held prominent positions at MTM, an independent television company that produced such programs as "Newhart" and "Evening Shade" during his tenure. He also served as senior vice president at Spelling Television, supervising the development of all series activity, including such shows as "Madman of the People" and "Savannah." Sheinberg is an active member of the California Bar, American Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association, Beverly Hills Bar Association, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and The Producers Guild of America. Sheinberg holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California Law Center. His undergraduate degree is in psychology and sociology. Orlikoff has been involved in leadership and strategy issues for more than 20 years. He has written 14 books, including "Board Work: Governing Health Care Organizations" and "The Board's Role in Quality Care: A Practical Guide for Hospital Trustees," along with numerous articles. He is the national adviser on governance and leadership to the American Hospital Association and Health Forum, and is the executive director or the American Governance and Leadership Group.
