Pitzer in the News 2006-2007 Academic Year

Claremont: a Great Place to Live

(July 16, 2007) Claremont, California, home to Pitzer College, has been named one of "America's Best Places to Live" by Money Magazine. Claremont ranked number five among cities between 7,500 and 50,000 in population.

For this year's list, Money Magazine focused on smaller places that offered the best combination of economic opportunity, good schools, safe streets, things to do and a real sense of community.

Today, Claremont is called the city of trees and Ph.D.s. The city has won the National Arbor Day Foundation's Tree City USA award for 19 straight years, and Pitzer College is part of a prestigious seven-school consortium known as the Claremont Colleges.
