Philanthropist Robert Day Donates $3 Million Gift to Pitzer College
April 28, 2008
Robert Day has presented Pitzer College with a personal gift of $3 million for the renovation of Avery Auditorium. The generous gift is one of the largest private donations ever received by the College and will be used to completely renovate and upgrade the auditorium, which was built in 1969. At Mr. Day’s request, the auditorium will be named George Benson Auditorium to honor his good friend, the late George Benson.
Thomas Brock '83 Recipient of Fifth Annual Distinguished Alumni Award

Thomas Brock '83 has been selected as the recipient of the Fifth Annual Distinguished Alumni Award. Brock will be will be presented with the award during Alumni Reunion Weekend on Saturday, June 7, 2008, at the Distinguished Alumni Award Luncheon and Award Presentation.

Susan Phillips Awarded Soros Justice Fellowship

Susan Phillips, academic director of the Pitzer in Ontario Program and Assistant Professor in Environmental Studies, has been named one of eighteen fellows awarded more than $1 million to reform indigent defense, reduce juvenile incarceration and improve prison conditions.
