U.S.News Rankings Release: Pitzer in Top 50 of Nation's Liberal Arts Colleges
Claremont, Calif. (August 17, 2007) - Pitzer College ranked 49th overall in the nation among liberal arts colleges in U.S.News & World Report’s 2008 edition of “America’s Best Colleges.” Increasing from 51st place from the previous year, Pitzer’s rankings reflect continued strong placements in all categories, particularly among academic quality reputation, selectivity, and endowment.
“While we are pleased that our college continues to perform well in the annual U.S.News & World Report rankings, our Admission Office recommends that prospective students explore their options on numerous levels beyond the college ranking books. The right fit for prospective students translates into matching the mission and core values of the college,” President Laura Skandera Trombley said.
Pitzer College ranking has increased from 70th to 49th during Trombley’s five-year term as president. The annual rankings examine the nation’s 266 liberal arts colleges. |
