Hannah Locke ’07 Selected for Women of Color Leadership Institute

Hannah Locke ’07, has been selected as one of 50 participants for the Collegiate Women of Color Leadership Development Institute to be held in Washington D.C. in mid- August. Following completion of this collegiate women’s program, Locke will design an event for the Pitzer community.

Locke is a psychology major with a keen interest in researching how culture plays a role in the field of psychology. Her long term plans include working with diverse populations in social services or in designing new programs or policy. In the 2006-07 academic year, Locke will serve as Pitzer’s Teach for America’s campaign manager.

Locke participated in the Pitzer in China program where she is spending the summer traveling with two Pitzer classmates.

This institute is sponsored by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and is open to women of color who are completing their junior year of college at any of 650 private colleges and universities.
