Pitzer College Community Assists American Red Cross

Red Cross Volunteers

(September 8, 2005) Members of the Pitzer College community assisted the American Red Cross in setting up a shelter in an Ontario church for Louisiana victims of Hurricane Katrina. Students, staff, and alumni helped set up cots with sheets, standard blankets and pillows.

“We don’t know how many people will be coming or how long they will be staying. We just want to be ready and make our guests as comfortable as possible,” a Red Cross representative said.

San Bernardino County is one of the few counties in California accepting people.
