Pitzer College Climbs 11 Spots in U.S. News & World Report Rankings

CLAREMONT, Calif., Aug. 23 – Pitzer College is ranked fifty-ninth among all liberal arts colleges in America by U.S. News & World Report in the magazine’s 2005 guide to America’s Best Colleges. The College’s ranking has improved from 70th to 59th in only one year.

Pitzer College was recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the fourth most diverse private coed liberal arts college in the top tier and for its strong service-learning program. Both diversity and service-learning have been core values of Pitzer since its founding.

Pitzer College President Laura Skandera Trombley is pleased with the current ranking, “Pitzer College continues to receive recognition as a top liberal arts college. We continue to build upon our tradition of academic excellence through quality programs and faculty; small class size; and high level of interaction between faculty and students.”

Pitzer College also was again included in the 2005 edition of the Princeton Review’s The Best 357 Colleges and Universities.
