Campus News 2003-2004 Academic Year

New Record Set for Pitzer College Admissions Applications

Claremont, CA (April 4, 2004) More than 3,100 admissions have been received for Pitzer College for the 2004 - 2005 academic year, setting an all-time record for Pitzer and showing the largest increase in applications from first-year students for any of The Claremont Colleges. This represents a twenty-eight percent increase from the previous year's application total and an increase for the eighth consecutive year.

The high number of applications received makes this the most competitive admission cycle in the College's history with the rate of admission offers dropping to 39%.

Dean of Admission Arnaldo Rodriguez said, "The growth in applications from first-year students is extremely significant. It indicates that more and more students and their families are seriously considering Pitzer College. The College is being recognized for the quality of its academic programs and the innovative approach to learning that has been the hallmark of Pitzer for forty years."
