Sagehens Continue Conference Dominance

Pitzer-Pomona Sagehens vs. Occidental Tigers
Pomona-Pitzer quarterback Justin Fenchel drops back to pass against
Occidental en route to a homecoming win Saturday, Oct. 4.

The Sagehens scored an impressive 28-14 homecoming victory against Occidental on Saturday, Oct. 4. The Sagehens are 4-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play. Pomona-Pitzer held the Tigers scoreless in the second half after being down 14-6 late in the third quarter. Running back John Samples had 3 touchdowns on 191 yards, including a 54-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Aaron Perez and Joseph Cappola led a stellar defensive performance, each with an interception. The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference-leading Sagehens travel to Illinois to take on the University of Chicago on Saturday, Oct. 11. They return home the following week for their last home game, a 7 p.m. matchup against Cal Lutheran.
