Parking, Seating and Special Needs

Parking
Parking will be available in the East Mesa Parking Lot, the Sanborn Parking lot and on Claremont Blvd. (see map)

Commencement Seating
Guest seating begins at 11:00 a.m. on the day of commencement. Seating will be available on a first come first served basis. Seating prior to 11:00 a.m. is not permitted. Unfortunately, we do not reserve seats, however there is generally seating for everyone.

Special Needs
A drop-off and pick-up point designated for wheelchair accessible and mobility impaired will be located in front of the Edythe & Eli Broad Center Building (see map) at the circular driveway. This is the closest location to the commencement ceremony and about a 30-second walk to the seating area. Staff will be in the area to help direct you to the ceremony location.

There will be plenty of accessible seating at the commencement ceremony. The commencement ceremony seats are white folding chairs which can be easily moved if necessary to make room for a wheelchair, walker or stroller. There is also plenty of open space on either side of the commencement area to store a wheelchair, walker or stroller.

The guests will be seated under a tent which will provide shade.

Water coolers will surround the ceremony location for anyone who needs a refreshing drink.

The Edythe & Eli Broad Center Building, located on the west side of the ceremony location, will be open during the ceremony for anyone who needs to step out of the heat for a few minutes.

Restrooms will be open in the buildings surrounding the ceremony location.

A first aide station will be set up and plenty of staff on hand to help out with any questions or assistance.

If you or your guest requires special assistance please contact the commencement coordinator several weeks prior to the commencement ceremony to discuss these needs.
