Directions & Travel Information

Driving to Pitzer

From Ontario International Airport:
Travel west on I-10 (towards Los Angeles). Exit on Indian Hill Boulevard going north (towards the mountains) for about 2 miles. Turn right onto Foothill Boulevard. Turn right onto Claremont Boulevard, which will be the third stoplight you encounter. Turn right onto Ninth Street. The Pitzer Visitor Parking Lot will be directly on your right (East Mesa Parking Lot).

From Los Angeles International Airport:
Take the CA-1 south/Sepulveda Boulevard towards I-105. Take the I-105 east (Imperial Highway). Take I-605 north. Take I-10 east (towards San Bernardino). Exit on Indian Hill Boulevard going north (towards the mountains) for about 2 miles. Turn right onto Foothill Boulevard. Turn right onto Claremont Boulevard, which will be the third stoplight you encounter. Turn right onto Ninth Street. The Pitzer Visitor Parking Lot will be directly on your right (East Mesa Parking Lot).

From San Diego:
Take I-15 north. Take I-10 west (towards Los Angeles). Exit on Indian Hill Boulevard going north (towards the mountains) for about 2 miles. Turn right onto Foothill Boulevard. Turn right onto Claremont Boulevard, which will be the third stoplight you encounter. Turn right onto Ninth Street. The Pitzer Visitor Parking Lot will be directly on your right (East Mesa Parking Lot).

From Orange County:
Take the CA-57 freeway north (towards Pomona). Take I-10 east. Exit on Indian Hill Boulevard going north (towards the mountains) for about 2 miles. Turn right onto Foothill Boulevard. Turn right onto Claremont Boulevard, which will be the third stoplight you encounter. Turn right onto Ninth Street. The Pitzer Visitor Parking Lot will be directly on your right (East Mesa Parking Lot).

From Pasadena and the San Fernando Valley:
Take I-210 east to Towne Exit. Turn right (south) to Foothill Boulevard. Turn left on Foothill Boulevard to Claremont Blvd., which will be the third light you encounter. Turn right on Claremont Blvd. to Ninth Street. Turn right on Ninth Street. The Pitzer Visitor Parking Lot will be directly on your right (East Mesa Parking Lot).

From Interstate 10:
Exit north on Indian Hill Boulevard going north (towards the mountains) for about 2 miles. Turn right onto Foothill Boulevard. Turn right onto Claremont Boulevard, which will be the third stoplight you encounter. Turn right onto Ninth Street. The Pitzer Visitor Parking Lot will be directly on your right (East Mesa Parking Lot).

Parking for Admission
Parking in front of the Admission Office is very limited, so we have directed you to the East Mesa Parking Lot. However, if you wish to see if parking is available in front of the Admission Office this is what you have to do: after turning right on Foothill Boulevard from Indian Hill Boulevard, turn right onto Dartmouth Street. Take a left onto Platt Boulevard (formerly Twelfth Street) to its end. You are now at the intersection of Mills and Platt Boulevard. The Admission Office is in the building in front of you (Broad Center). Please check in at the Admission office for a parking pass and then proceed to the East Mesa visitors’ parking lot.

To reach the Admission Office from the East Mesa parking lot, walk to the center of campus where the grass begins. Turn right and walk toward the clock tower. Turn left and walk straight ahead to Broad Center. Once you enter Broad Center, the Admission Office is located on your left. (Note: The Admission Office will be moving locations mid-Fall 2007.)

Local Airports

Ontario International Airport is located 20 minutes from campus. Many major airlines service Ontario, including Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, America West, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Northwest, Reno Air, Skywest, Southwest Airlines, T.W.A. Airlines, United Airlines and USAir Express. Commercial shuttle service to campus is available.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is located about one hour and 15 minutes from campus (assuming minimal traffic). Most major airlines service LAX. Commercial shuttle service to campus is available.

John Wayne International Airport (Orange County) is located in Newport Beach, just off the 405 freeway, about 30 miles south of Claremont. Estimated travel time is approximately one hour.

Airport Shuttle arrangements can be made through Super Shuttle by calling (800) 200-6655. Taxicabs are also available at the airport with return reservations required.

Rail and Bus Services

Metrolink
Claremont has a Transit Center with commuter rail service (Monday - Saturday) and bus service to Union Station in downtown Los Angeles and many other Southern California destinations. The transit center is located on First Street between Yale and College avenues, about 12 blocks from campus.

The nearest Amtrak station is located on Garey Avenue in Pomona, about three miles from campus. Service is provided daily.

The closest Greyhound depot is located on Indian Hill Boulevard, just south of the I-10 freeway.
