Meet Our Diversity Staff

Constance Lumumba-Perez

Constance Lumumba-Perez, Assistant Director of Admission
Constance grew up in Los Angeles, California, and graduated from Ramona Convent Secondary School in Alhambra, California. She is an alumna of Pitzer and earned her degrees in Political Studies and English and World Literature. During her time as a student she was Head Delegate of the Pitzer-Pomona Model United Nations team, served on Student Senate and volunteered with incarcerated youth through the Community Engagement Center (formerly CCCSI). Outside of work, Constance enjoys baking, reading and spending time with her family and friends. Constance's recruitment territories include: Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, New Mexico, and California (Los Angeles, San Gabriel Valley, San Jose, Palo Alto, Monterey and Marin).

Jee Won Lee

Jee Won Lee, Admission Counselor
Jee Won Lee was born in Seoul, South Korea, and grew up in Ohio and Michigan. She holds a BA in English from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and an EdM in Higher Education from Harvard University. While studying and working in Ann Arbor, she volunteered with Avalon Housing, a non-profit supporting and developing low-income housing, and as a GED Tutor at Jackson Men’s Facility. When away from work, Jee Won Lee enjoys reading, traveling, and indulging in delicious meals with family and friends.  

 

Jose Barriga '12

Jose Barriga '12, Diversity Intern
Jose was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and graduated from Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary High School. At Pitzer, he is currently pursuing a double major in Spanish and Gender/Feminist Studies and an English and World Literature minor. Jose has worked in the Admission Office since his freshman year as a tour guide, Diversity Intern and an Admission Fellow.He has been heavily involved with the Latino Student Union and the Queer Resource Center. He has also served in Student Senate on various committees such as the Diversity Committee and the Mead Hall Counsel. Jose also volunteers at Prototypes, a women's rehabilitation center in the neighboring city of Pomona.

Leonardo Flores '14

Leonardo Flores '14, Diversity Intern
Leonardo was born and raised in East Los Angeles, California. He attended Bishop Mora Salesian High School, an all boy catholic school. Leonardo is part of the Class of 2014 and aspires to double major in Psychology and Gender and Feminist Studies. While at Pitzer he is involved with Jumpstart, Encuentros Luncheons, Latino Student Union, Chicano/Latino Student Affairs, and other various clubs on campus. In his spare time Leonardo enjoys the company of his friends, reading, writing, eating, and sleeping. In the future Leonardo plans to attend graduate school and eventually start a non-profit organization facilitating the lives of young LGBT Latinos/as in his community.

Alyshia Silva '12

Alyshia Silva '12, Diversity Intern
Raised in Los Angeles, Alyshia's interests in both environmental and social justice brought her to Pitzer College where she is now a combined major in Environmental Analysis and Anthropology.  She has recently returned from her study abroad adventures in Costa Rica, where she studied human and tropical ecology as well as having created an independent study focusing on local and organic food.  While at Pitzer College, Alyshia has been a part of many activities, such as performing for the Claremont College's Ballroom Dance Company, teaching 6th graders Environmental Science as a Leadership in Environmental Education (LEEP) Mentor, and interning for several social justice groups, such as Los Angeles' Bus Riders Union. 

Jessica Silva '14

Jessica Silva '14, Diversity Intern
Jessica was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. She attended The Denver Center for International Studies High School where she was actively involved in the school and local community, and is excited to bring her passion here to Pitzer College. Jessica plans to major in Media Studies and minor in literature.  In her spare time, Jessica loves to read, write, take photographs, and often times finds herself looking for an art gallery or a music scene.
