Spring 2014 Diversity Program - Frequently Asked Questions
Pitzer College seeks to enroll students whose backgrounds and experiences offer varying perspectives on living and learning in a multicultural world. In order to accomplish this, we offer this program to encourage students to visit, apply, and enroll at Pitzer College.
- Who is eligible?
Admitted high school seniors from underrepresented racial and ethnic backgrounds from the 48 continental United States are eligible for this program.
- How do I RSVP?
The online reservation form will be made available in March. Space is limited, so it is important that students register shortly after receiving their invitation. The deadline to apply is April 1, 2014.
- Who is accepted?
The spring program is for admitted students. An invitation will be given to targeted students in their admit packets.
- How do I know if my application was received?
Once you apply online you will be redirected to a confirmation page notifying you that your application has been received. Within two business days you should receive an email from on of our Diversity Interns. If you do not receive an email, we did not receive your application and you should contact our office at 909.621.8129.
- What will students do?
As a participant in the Spring Diversity Program, you will attend the Admitted Student Day on Friday, April 18, 2014. Additionally, you will stay in the residence halls with a current student, attend a class, and eat in the dinning hall. You will also have the chance to meet with coaches, faculty, staff, and students.
- Will the program cover the other Claremont Colleges?
While there will be a scavenger hunt around the other Claremont Colleges, this program is geared towards students who are interested in Pitzer College. All students on the Diversity Program are required to attend all planned programming.
- Why should I attend?
The Diversity Program has been created in an effort to increase multicultural diversity at Pitzer College. The program also allows students who might not otherwise have the means to visit Pitzer an opportunity to experience our campus community.
- Does attending the Diversity Program increase my chances of being admitted to Pitzer?
Pitzer is holistic in its admission approach. A variety of factors are taken into account by the admission staff. Attending this program does not guarantee admission.
- I cannot attend the program. Are there other opportunities to visit campus?
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer other expense-paid options outside of the Diversity Program. To discover other visit opportunities, like Admitted Student Day, please click here.
- Who should I contact if I have more questions?
