New Resources Program
Pitzer College established the New Resources program in 1974 to bring the
small, liberal arts college experience to students of non-traditional
college age. The program was founded with the conviction that a
truly diverse campus is one eager to encounter the added dimension
brought by students of a range of ages as well as backgrounds and
interests.
To be considered for admission the applicant must be in good standing
at the last institution attended and be 25 years of age or older.
New Resources candidates must obtain a paper copy of the application
from the Admission Office because it is not available online. In
addition to the application for admission and a nonrefundable $50
application fee, New Resources candidates must complete two essays,
send official transcripts, and submit two references from professors
or employers.
New Resources students can transfer a maximum of 64 semester units
or 96 quarter units from a community college. An additional 32 semester
units or 48 quarter units may be transferred from an accredited
four-year institution. Applicants for the New Resources program
are required to have an on-campus interview with an Admission Counselor.
The interview provides prospective students the opportunity to have
questions answered concerning admission, programs of study, transferable
credit, and financial aid possibilities. Please contact the Office
of Admission at (800) 748-9371 or (909) 621-8129 to arrange for
this interview.
