Philosophy at The Claremont Colleges

Philosophy is the study of the most fundamental issues of human existence; the so-called "Big Questions":

  • What is the nature of existence?
  • What is the nature of knowledge?
  • What, in the question's most fundamental form, ought we do; how ought we act?
  • How ought we reason?
  • And, are these the right questions even to be asking?

The discipline of Philosophy is taught by a wide range of teacher/scholars in The Claremont Community, from all five undergraduate colleges, the Claremont Graduate University, as well as at the Claremont School of Theology.
