IMS is committed to expanding study abroad opportunities of special interest to media studies majors. Currently, Pitzer College offers a Media Studies track of their Pitzer in China program. In this Beijing University-based program, students examine the nature of mass media in China and its impact on social, political, and economic behavior on both sides of the cultural divide. They participate in a series of lectures, presentations, and interviews that investigate representations of China in newspapers, magazines, television, film, and news media. Visits to newspapers, television stations, film studios and other media-related organizations supplement in-class presentations.
