Congratulations!
You have been approved for a Study Abroad program.

Now that you have been accepted for study abroad, a new phase begins – preparing to go. There will be many things to organize and more paperwork to be completed but the effort will be well worth it to find yourself studying overseas next semester. In order to help you keep track of tasks you need to complete in the months and weeks leading up to your departure, we have created pre-departure handbooks that are updated each semester. All Pitzer students and guest students on Pitzer programs receive these handbooks at orientation. Parents, faculty and study abroad advisers are welcome to view handbooks for the most recent semester on-line or download them for reference.

Students must observe the deadlines for the Pitzer acceptance paperwork or risk paying late fees or becoming ineligible for certain programs. Students may also download copies of the Pitzer acceptance paperwork to be completed if any of the forms have been misplaced.

Pitzer Programs Handbooks

The handbooks provide specific information for each Pitzer program with necessary details for your planning such as: program dates, immunizations, visa information, credit and fees, etc.

Pitzer Exchange Programs Handbooks

Students approved for an exchange will have a general handbook about Pitzer policies for obtaining credit, program fees, and more.

Program information such as the semester dates, arrival information, housing, etc. for each exchange will be sent in an acceptance packet directly from the host university and/or given to students at their program specific orientation. Additional acceptance paperwork will be sent from the university that the student is responsible for returning promptly to the host university in order to reserve a space on the program. The earlier such forms are returned, the more likely the student will receive their preference in housing arrangements, classes, etc. Failure to meet the host university deadlines may result in becoming ineligible for the program. Contact the Office of Study Abroad for the contact information for host university partners.

Non-Pitzer Programs Handbooks

Students approved for non-Pitzer programs will receive a general handbook at orientation about Pitzer policies for obtaining credit, program fees, payment for housing and meals abroad, etc.

Specific program information such as the dates of program, flights etc. will be provided by the program sponsor directly to the student. Students are responsible for returning the acceptance paperwork they receive from the program sponsor by the required deadlines in order to reserve their place on the non-Pitzer program. Failure to meet the program sponsor deadlines may result in the student becoming ineligible for the program. Contact the Office of Study Abroad for information for other program sponsors.
