Students in good standing at Pitzer College. Preference is given to juniors and first semester seniors but sophomores are eligible if space is available. |

At least one area studies course on Germany/Europe in history, politics, literature, or international relations is required. Previous German language study is highly recommended. Participants are expected to take a German language class (if not already advanced) and one course that includes content on German history, politics, literature or culture. |

The University offers courses taught in English in literature, philosophy and culture. Students with high intermediate or advanced German language studies may choose regular university courses taught in German. |

A course load of 4 courses will typically equal 4 courses at Pitzer but some variation is possible so students should check with a study abroad advisor to ensure sufficient credit. |
| Housing Options: |
Students live in student dorms with German students and other international students. A home stay may be arranged if requested in advance. |

| Scholarships to Germany for Undergraduates |
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers Scholarships to Germany from fall 2008 to summer 2009. Application Deadline: January 31st 2008
Each year the program supports approximately 50-60 US and Canadian undergraduate students. We hope to help these students reach their academic goals while building important and lasting bonds of friendship between our countries and introducing them to the benefits of the German higher education system.
Highly qualified undergraduate students are invited to apply for scholarships funding study, senior thesis research and/or internships in Germany from four to ten months:
