Eligibility Applicants must have a "B" average (minimum GPA 3.0) and have studied two years of college-level French.
Preparation Minimum of two years of college-level French and at least one prep course, such as, Comparative Politics, Intercultural Communications, Introduction to International/ Intercultural Studies, Introduction to Sociocultural Anthropology, The World Since 1492 or a European area studies course.

Program Dates Fall: Late August to late December or mid January (The end date will depend on specific course schedules. If a student chooses to take a course at one of the French institutions affiliated with the Sarah Lawrence program, he/she may be obligated to stay into January.)
Spring: Early January to mid May
Required Courses Sarah Lawrence Paris students are required to take one Sarah Lawrence seminar, one Sarah Lawrence French course, and two electives. All courses are conducted exclusively in French.
Intensive Language All students will be expected to take a French language course at the advanced level.
Other Course Options Sarah Lawrence has partnerships with a number of French Institutions. Students may select courses at any one of these schools, as long as they have the required proficiency in French and appropriate academic background. Credit Possible The program will consist of four courses, totaling 15 credits per semester. Pitzer students will earn 4 Pitzer course credits for 15 semester units.
Housing Options Pitzer students are required to live in homestays.
Advising Notes Chances of placement are limited. Only 2 students can be accepted each semester.
