| Eligibility: |
Students applying to the francophone universities of Quebec must complete the equivalent of French 44 prior to participation. Students must be in good standing at Pitzer College. Preference given to juniors and first semester seniors but sophomores are eligible if space is available. |
| Preparation: |
Completion of French 44 or the equivalent is required. Any area studies course, if available. Since few courses at the Claremont Colleges have an emphasis on Canada, general preparation options include: Comparative Politics, Intercultural Communications, Introduction to International/ Intercultural Studies, Introduction to Sociocultural Anthropology |

| Program Dates: |
Fall Semester: Late August to Mid December
Spring Semester: Early January to Early May
Note: Some variation depending on each school but in general dates are similar to US college semesters. Consult individual college websites for details. |

Participants are expected to take one course that includes content on Canadian history, politics, literature or culture. |
| Intensive Language Study: |
No beginning level French classes are available. Students must have an advanced French level to enroll in the regular classes offered at the universities. |

The Francophone universities offer broad curricular offerings. Enrollment in certain departments are restricted or may have specific course pre-requisites |

A course load of 16 units = 4 Pitzer courses. |
| Housing Options: |
Students locate their own housing in Montreal for the Université de Montreal, Université de Quebec and Université de Laval. Dormitories arrangements are possible with Sherbrooke University |
| Advising notes: |
Very early application deadline for both fall and spring applicants. Students should complete the application by the December 4, 2006 deadline. Consult an adviser for details. Up to 2 students can be accepted per year for the entire CRE-PUQ exchange (not for each university). |
