Who are the Host Students?

View the slideshow>

Most of the students we place with host families are Japanese and range in age from 19 to 22. They are here to participate in academic language programs organized by Pitzer College. They come from Tokyo Women’s Christian University, Kobe Women’s University and Shukugawa Gakuin College to learn English and American culture. They are at Pitzer College from three weeks to several months, depending on the program.

Volunteer host families welcome students into their homes and everything the family can do to make the student feel at home is appreciated. Here are some of the expectations for being a host family.

More about our students coming soon.
