Announcements of Philosophy-related events at the Claremont Colleges (talks, classes, movie viewings, etc.) are often sent to a special email distribution list called "phil-announce-l@claremont.edu".

If you wish to add yourself to this list (it's open to anybody), please follow the directions below.

Subscribing

Send a message to listkeeper@claremont.edu. THE SUBJECT LINE SHOULD BE BLANK.

In the body of the message, NOT the subject line, include the following:

subscribe phil-announce-l

Unsubscribing

Note: This information applies only to list that have a subscription policy "auto+confirm". If the list is closed you need to approve most of the unsubscription requests.

First you need to find which one of your e-mail addresses is subscribed to the list (sic!). At HMC all faculty and students have multiple aliases pointing to the same account. So first_last@hmc.edu is the same as login@machine.hmc.edu. So you need to know which one of the possible e-mail addresses is subscribed to the list.

You can find out which e-mail address is subscribed to the list by sending a message to listkeeper@claremont.edu and including in the body of the message the command who listname-l

Listkeeper will send you a message with all the members of the list.

After you determine which e-mail address is subscribed to the list, send a message to listkeeper@claremont.edu with the following syntax: unsubscribe listname-l
AND
your email address

Listkeeper will ask you to confirm that you really want to unsubscribe.

Just follow the directions and you are unsubscribed from the list.
